Bass Fishing Tip of the Week 12/26/09: New Year Resolutions for Bass Fishermen

It's that time of year again and the New Year is just around the corner. Here's a list of potential resolutions for all of you bass fishing fanatics.

1- Clean your reels and rods. Clean all the eyes with a cotton swab and alcohol on your rods. Open your reels and lube/oil them as well as getting all the grime off the outside.

2- Buy new fishing line. Check out the latest and greatest fluorocarbon lines and new braids. You'll be surprised how they have improved.

3- Check your tire pressures on your tow vehicle and trailer and fill 'em up. Proper tire pressure goes a long way in improving mileage and tire life.

4- Lube your trailer bearings. Proper lubrication will keep you from getting stuck on the side of the road.

5- Pull your boat prop/trolling motor prop. Check the shaft for any fishing line and remove the line. Line can ruin your lower unit seals.

6- Take your kids fishing or even someone else's. Nothing beats a smile on a child's face after catching a fish.

7- Appreciate everything you have had through your life and the wonderful country we are in that allows you the time to enjoy your favorite past time!

Until next time, Tight Lines.
